Privacy Policy

How we handle your data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Midifex (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Midivex software and website (“Service”).

What We Collect

Account information — When you sign in, we store your email address and name. If you use Google, Apple, or Microsoft sign-in, we receive your name and email from the provider. We do not receive or store your password from these providers.

License and activation data — When you activate Midivex Pro, we store a machine identifier and platform (macOS or Windows) to enforce the two-device activation limit. Machine identifiers are opaque hashes and do not contain personally identifiable information.

Signup analytics — When you create an account, we record your platform (macOS/Windows) and approximate country (derived from your IP address via a third-party lookup). We do not store your IP address.

Newsletter — If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Contact form — If you contact us, we receive your name, email, and message content.

What We Don’t Collect

We do not collect or store your MIDI data, routing configurations, effect settings, or any other content you create within Midivex. All of that stays on your computer.

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain your account and license
  • To send your license key after purchase
  • To send newsletter updates (if subscribed)
  • To respond to support requests
  • To understand usage patterns in aggregate (e.g., how many users are on macOS vs Windows)

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Midivex:

  • Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all payment information directly. We never see or store your card details.
  • Postmark — Transactional email delivery (license keys, sign-in codes, contact form notifications).
  • ConvertKit (Kit) — Newsletter subscriber management.
  • Google Analytics — Website analytics to understand how visitors use our site. In regions where consent is required (EU/UK), Google Analytics is only loaded after you give consent.
  • DigitalOcean — Database hosting.
  • Vercel — Website hosting.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you signed in). We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to understand website traffic. In the EU and UK, analytics cookies are only set after you give consent via our cookie banner.

Data Retention

We retain your account and license data for as long as your account is active. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
  • Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at sales@midifex.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

Midivex is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. See our Terms of Use for eligibility requirements.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
